Introduction to Comparative Assessments of Mobility (CAM)

Description

In each assessment, you will be actively moving parts of the body and comparing the motion from one side to the other.

You want to look for the following:

  1. Symmetry: is there a difference in motion between the two sides or movement
  2. Smoothness: is there a difference in how easy, fluid or smooth the motion is between the two sides or movements
  3. Range of Motion: was the motion a good amount or small amount

If there is an asymmetry, lack of smoothness on one or both sides, and/or an overall minimal of range of motion on both sides, this can be an indication of a lack of activation causing poor mobility.
