To Perform Hip Abduction w/ External Rotation:
- Move the hip into its end range position.
- RESITIVE technique: Abduct and externally rotate leg. Keeping leg externally rotated, perform the following PIC:
- Press heel of abduxted leg outward into the floor and downward into your hand with only enough pressure to perform the isometric contraction at 10-20% for 3-6 sec x 3-6 sets.
- Rest approximately 3-5 seconds between reps.
- Reset the foot into external rotation as far as it can go after each rep.
- Perform the opposite for Right Hip abduction w/ external rotation.
