Hip Abduction w/ External Rotation

Description

To Perform this PIC for Left Hip Abduction w/ External Rotation:

  1. Move the hip into its end range position.
  2. RESITIVE technique:  Abduct left thigh and externally rotate left foot/knee and perform the following PICs:
    • Push left heel outward (can push your thigh against your hand, if it helps you feel it better) with only enough pressure to perform the isometric contraction at 10-20% for 3-6 sec x 3-6 sets. Rest approximately 5 seconds between reps.
    • Push left heel into the floor with only enough pressure to perform the isometric contraction at 10-20% for 3-6 sec x 3-6 sets. Rest approximately 5 seconds between reps.
    • Push left heel outward and into the floor with only enough pressure to perform the isometric contraction at 10-20% for 3-6 sec x 3-6 sets. Rest approximately 5 seconds between reps.
  3. Perform the opposite for Right Hip abduction w/ external rotation.
