Hip Adduction and Flexion w/ Internal Rotation

Description

To Perform this PIC for Left Hip Adduction w/ Internal Rotation:

  1. Move the hip into its end range position.
  2. ASSISTIVE technique: place left hand under the thigh with only enough support to perform the isometric contraction of flexion and abduction at 10-20% for 3-6 sec x 3-6 sets. Rest approximately 5 seconds between reps.
  3. RESITIVE technique:   perform the following PICs:
    • Place right hand on inside of thigh and push thigh inward (adduction) with only enough pressure to perform the isometric contraction at 10-20% for 3-6 sec x 3-6 sets. Rest approximately 5 seconds between reps.
    • Place left or right hand on top of thigh and push thigh upward (flexion) with only enough pressure to perform the isometric contraction at 10-20% for 3-6 sec x 3-6 sets. Rest approximately 5 seconds between reps.
    • Place right hand on inside/top of thigh and push up and in with only enough pressure to perform the isometric contraction at 10-20% for 3-6 sec x 3-6 sets. Rest approximately 5 seconds between reps.
  4. Perform the opposite for Right Hip adduction and flexion w/ internal rotation.
